A Time to Rest

​I spent several hours with the Endodontist. We agreed that if he found infection “oozing” after he cleaned out the tooth that he would pack it with meds until next week. I knew when he told the assistant, “Well this answers that question” that it wasn't what I wanted to hear. There was too much infection and although he cleaned it out, it kept oozing. He packed it with meds, kept me on the antibiotics, and told me to come back next Friday to see what it looks like. Caleb is good with me hanging out here with him. So, while I don't quite understand why…. I know there is a reason, a lesson to learn, that I must need while “I be still” and let Him be God in my life. I’ve learned so much about “me” on this journey, but this one must really take all my focus on Him to understand or maybe I’m just hardheaded. So, I’m waiting. Thankful for Caleb letting me stay another week! Thanks to everyone for your prayers! Hope I learn fast🥹  "...and the Dr said to limit your Snickers to 3

LIVE YOUR DREAMS

         San Francisco to St Augustine                      3/1/23 to 5/3/23  I completed my bicycle journey that began March 1st in San Francisco. A journey that was planned in 2017 by David and me, but because of life’s circumstances, never moved past the planning stages. After David passed away in Sept 2021, I began to “finish the dreams” we had in our bucket list. One by one, with help from his lifelong friend, Cliff Goodlet, teaching me the many aspects of touring, the Natchez Trace and now the Southern Tier has completed what together David and I were planning. I could never have made it without Cliff being my eyes and ears, routing me from Austin when I went solo and keeping Hendrika and I from being turned around so many times. He “rode “this journey with me from his chair and computer, always having “eyes "on me for my safety. It seemed perfect having him ride the last 50 miles with me. It all began with an Amtrak ride from Atlanta to Emeryville, accompanied by my friend

Tuesday’s Ride and Wednesdays Rest

​Sorry for being a day behind. Yesterday was a hard day with a lot of traffic, noise, climbing and 67.4 miles. I had to go off our route to the Trek Shop in Austin for a replacement of a part that I needed in Tempe. Anyways, I got it taken care of, stopped by Walgreens for an antibiotic and made it to Caleb’s house.  I was hoping that the swelling and pain would go down once I had the antibiotic and a good night's sleep but made the decision this morning that I would stay at Caleb’s again tonight and catch up with Hendrika tomorrow. Just hoping that another good night's sleep in a bed will help along with the meds.  So today, I’m in the bed taking meds.
